In addition to our day-to-day service activities, Tu Tama Wahine o Taranaki has hosted events and undertaken innovative projects designed to increase the awareness of our community in relation to whanau development and indigenous community development. 

All these activities are a part of the ‘liberation’ agenda of Tu Tama Wahine o Taranaki which seeks to foster an indigenous approach to community development.

We recognise that creating wananga, fostering active citizenship, and investing in the skills of working together better ... are all part of a pathway towards a more peaceful and prosperous community that will no longer need many of the social services that we currently provide.
